About K.B. Knight
I live and grew up in the great city of Cincinnati, Oh. I am blessed to have grown up here, for it is an immensely historically rich city, and a melting pot of all races. Although my goal is to move out into the country, Cincinnati will always be my home. Writing allows me to escape reality and enter an alternate reality created solely by my demented mind. I started writing while in the eighth grade upon entering a program my favorite teacher suggested a few of us to do. Although I do not remember the accurate name of this program, I believe it was something on the lines of: Young Authors Future Success. I had great success in it, fell in love with it, and I wanted to write ever since.
However, Stephen King's "Misery" (the first book I ever read) is what truly inspired me to someday become a writer. I placed writing on the back burner after falling in love with track & field, martial arts and boxing. It was only in my latter years my passion for storytelling rekindled after a brief conversation with my customer at work, who was a published author. My career (twelve years strong) is in banking. I get the pleasure of meeting new people every day and helping them with their finances, which boils down to—life in itself.
I have a bright fifteen-year-old son who does not share my passion for horror. He is big into fantasy fiction, and he is far smarter than I could ever hope to be. He will one day grow up to be a better writer than his old man...but not if I can help it. LOL Lifting weights, practicing martial arts, and boxing is another essential quality/hobby I am pleased to have. It is a great way to keep that precious mind of mine, in the real world, cleansed and exercised.
Other than writing, fishing is my favorite way to leave all of life's problems and stress behind, even if it is just for a moment. There is nothing like sitting at the banks of the Ohio River with a pole in one hand and a cold brewski in the other, reclined back with a little Zac Brown on the station, and the backdrop of my elegant city in clear view. Now that—is life. My favorite authors are: Stephen King, Dean Koontz, R.L. Stine, Tom Clancy, and oddly, (for a thriller and horror lover) Nicholas Sparks. (Do not judge, for the man knows how to tell a good love story. lol) I hope you enjoy my twisted mind. It is only malevolent on paper. Otherwise, I am a kind country boy living in a big city...for now.
